History & Heritage
Ladakh has a rich history as an independent kingdom that controlled the trade routes along the Indus Valley. It was closely tied to Tibet in terms of religion and culture. The Namgyal dynasty ruled Ladakh from the 15th to the 19th century, constructing the Leh Palace (modeled after Lhasa's Potala Palace). In 1834, Zorawar Singh, a general of the Dogra Empire under Maharaja Gulab Singh, invaded Ladakh, leading to its integration into Jammu & Kashmir. In 2019, Ladakh became a separate Union Territory.

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La

Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok

How to Reach from Kanpur
Fly to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) in Leh. Road access is via the Manali-Leh Highway or Srinagar-Leh Highway, open in summer. Rudra Tours manages all internal travel in comfortable, high-ground-clearance SUVs (like Innova/Scorpio) with expert mountain drivers.
